Kariz begins its work at a time when our beloved Iran is going through difficult days. Yet, this hardship heralds the fundamental changes that Iranian society is currently experiencing. It is important to remember that no state of being is created in an instant; likewise, the present condition of Iran has behind it a long history of struggle and transformation, and ahead, an extended future. It is for this reason that we have decided to carve out a space for thoughtful reflection amid the fervor of these times—a place where thinkers and enthusiasts can gather to engage in discussion and debate.
Our constitution is shaped upon the ground of concealed, where undercommons dwell. So, with the sincere belief of the fact that those voices, had they been listened to, might have brought us to a different condition today, here, with a focus on Iran, we engage in study, critique, interpretation, and dialogue to lay the foundations for deep, powerful theories concerning our homeland.
